Trenchless Technology
Introduction
Fold and Form (F&F) is an innovative PVC pipe lining system specifically designed for the rehabilitation of existing underground drainage and sewer pipelines. It features a seamless, joint-free structure and is supplied in continuous coils or reels ranging from 200 to 300 meters in length. This trenchless rehabilitation method involves installing a "pipe within a pipe," providing a practical and efficient solution for pipeline restoration.
Methodology
The Fold and Form pipe is installed by pulling it through the host pipe using a power winch, followed by curing with a combination of steam, air, and water to ensure proper fit and durability.
Process
- Preparation : The liner material is heated with steam until it softens, becoming pliable enough to be pulled through the existing host pipe
- Installation : Once the liner is in position, it is reheated with steam and pressurized to expand and form a tight fit against the interior walls of the host pipe
- Curing : The material is cooled using water and air, causing it to harden and create a snug, durable lining within the existing pipe
Advantages
- Factory-Manufactured Quality : The liner is pre-manufactured in a controlled environment, with all physical properties tested by trained quality control personnel before shipment.
- Seamless Design : The liner provides a continuous, joint-free pipeline from manhole to manhole, eliminating potential weak points.
- Enhanced Durability : Prevents root intrusion, groundwater infiltration, and sediment entry into the pipeline.
- Eco-Friendly : The process is non-toxic and produces no harmful vapors or chemical reactions during curing.
- Quick Installation : Sewer lines can be rehabilitated in less than two hours, with services reinstated within an hour after installation.
